If ever given the chance to ask a Jasper County Police Officer one question, I would probably have to ask, Why some people have the right to ride their 4-wheelers up and down the highway, which we all know is against the law, or maybe I'm just missing something here, and that law is no longer in force... =^%#*@>
administrator took the name out of this comment, but the question will be forwarded to the police officer.

The Officers told me that they have to Physically SEE someone riding on the street before they can do anything.
Even video is not good enough take a look at the one I sent to the Sheriff

Write your county commissioners and tell them we need a 4 wheeler and noise control law.

Can the County explain why they have spent thousands and thousands of dollars for attorney fees out of taxpayers money to prevent the removal of a modular home in Sculley Sq that is only worth $35,000 that should have never been given a permit for in the first place.

We have a very dangerous intersection at Turnbridge and Silver Ct., it is literally a sheet of ice here because the highway dept. has not sanded here. I have watched the bus driver, AND the garbage driver both slide thru the intersection just this morning!!!! I have driven thru the subdivision and this is the ONLY intersection that is not sanded!!! what will it take to fix this problem???? Some child getting hit standing and waiting for the bus???It will not be the drivers fault I will blame the highway dept!!!!!

New Local Option Income Tax Starts Monday October 1st

Jasper County Local Tax is now 3.05%

Total Local County IncomeTax + Indiana State Income Tax = 6.45%

Go to the tab Taxes go up by 1.55% to see an explanation of the taxes and what they will be used for.

Indiana Dept. Of Revenue has sent notices to employers to change the local county tax.  You can expect to see changes in your pay checks by the end of october.  Watch this web site for information as to how much of a credit you will get toward your property taxes vs. how much you will be paying in county tax.  You can be the judge if this tax will help you or hurt you.  The tax is able to be changed once a year by the county council, so let your voice be heard.
